
Pisa to Lucca: Self-Guided Ride Along the Puccini Trail
This tour connects two of Tuscany’s most iconic cities through a scenic route combining nature, culture, and history. Starting in Pisa, you’ll follow cycle paths and quiet roads along the Serchio River to Lucca. Ride on the famous Renaissance Walls, explore the charming historic centre, and discover landmarks such as Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, the Guinigi Tower, and Via Fillungo. Complete your visit by tasting some of Lucca’s delicious local specialties. Tour distance: approximately 28 km to Lucca and 28 km back to Pisa. Alternatively, you can return to Pisa by regional train, taking your bike with you (a bike supplement applies in addition to the train ticket). Bike drop-off in Lucca is available for an additional fee (please ask at the bike rental for details).
